My namesake

I received an intriguing Google Alert this morning for my name - Natalia Bondarenko - and realised it was my namesake. I believe she is an artist in Italy. I have no idea what this is about, but I found it very beautiful. Who would have thought it - two Natalia Bondarenko's obsessed by art!

If you speak Italian, I would love to know what this means!

Moxy Crochet

I came across this gorgeous website when looking for crochet instructions (yes, I want to learn to crochet!) Moxy Crochet products are created by seven artisans based in Cape Town's Khayelietsha township - I covet one of their gorgeous throw to snuggle under - the colour palettes they use are gorgeous!

Darkly Lilac

While creating this, I had romantic images of a beautiful, innocent and ultimately spurned Victorian heroine, waiting in vain for her love...in the lilac arbour at dusk (but of course!)

The design has been created by wirewrapping a spine of AAA sparkly white topaz gemstones together. This simple base was elaborated on with clusters of gems nestled between the white topaz rondelles. Featured are violet/blue iolite, vibrant amethyst, icy rock crystal quartz, mysterious black rutilated quartz, and iris peacock freshwater pearls. Finished with an ornate Balinese silver toggle clasp, the entire design was oxidised in an organic fashion, and then lightly rubbed back. Glorious!

You can see more images of the Darkly Lilac bracelet here.

Sean Farrow

While looking at some photos of one of my friends on Facebook, I realised they had been taken by his friend, and upon some more research (some people call it snooping, I call it research) discovered his photography portfolio, which features some amazing art!

Barossa

Some images from our weekend at the Barossa a fortnight ago.

Leon outside the Seppeltsfield cellar door (where we got my new favourite wine - a fortified rose named Ruby - served over ice, this is so decadent!)

A barrel - freshly stoppered - outside Chateau Tanunda (where Leon got some lovely Ebenezer Shiraz.)

Pocky

The boys and I went to the Adelaide Central Market today, and did our food shopping. After that, we went to China Town and had the cheapest, most delicious meal (William had yum cha, Jacob had a massive bento box, and I had ramen noodles), but even after that gargantuan meal, they were craving some pocky. I was very amused when they came back with Men's Pocky!

Don't know what Pocky is? I'm sure this youtube clip will clear everything up!

Afterlife

This is probably my favourite ever site. I have a fascination with funerary art, and the compassion, beauty and otherworldliness found in Jonathon Clark's photography is quite breathtaking.

To see the Afterlife site, click here (be sure to spend at least 10 seconds on each image, scrolling your mouse over the images also produces some surprising results.) To view more of Jonathon's incredible work, you can see his photostream on flickr here, or his site here.
