Year of Jewelry 2010 - Week 5 - Pick a rock, any rock

Again, hideously late, I decided to use some gorgeous heliodor to make a sweet little bumblebee for Week 5's challenge.

This delightful little bee features a plump faceted pyrite briolette for his head, and a golden yellow heliodor briolette for his abdomen. A cluster of faceted black spinel rondelles form his dainty thorax. All these components have been carefully secured to a hand formed and hammered sterling silver wire frame, and the resulting pendant has then been suspended from textured chain. Finished with a hand forged clasp, and a length of extension chain - which is adorned with an additional heliodor briolette, and black spinel rondelles - the entire design has been heavily oxidised, and selectively rubbed back.

You can see more pictures of this little fellow here.
