One of the families' favourites - I have to make it only when we have people over, as I would eat it all! (It's also safe to say that this is not lactose, sugar or gluten free!)
250g butter, melted
2 cups dark brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
2 1/2 cups SR flour
3 cups rolled oats
300g dark chocolate, melted (for this recipe I used 2 chocolate rabbits left over from Easter!)
395g can of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup flaked almonds
1 tsp vanilla essence
Preheat oven to moderate (180 degrees), and grease and line two rectangular slice pans (19cm x 29cm)
Combine butter, sugar, eggs and essence in a large bowl, then add the sifted flour and oats, mix. Roughly divide into 3 portions - 2 are pressed into the prepared pans, and then remaining mixture and the pans are placed in the fridge while preparing the filling.
For the filling, combine all ingredients in a small pan and mix over very low heat until combined. Spread filling over both pans, and top with the third portion of mixtured in a crumble fashion. Bake for 30 minuted or until lightly browned.
Allow to cool, and then turn out - refrigerate for a while before cutting it into portions.

I have been hankering for playing with fabric for a while now - I won't give in to making clothes as yet (I'll wait until we move now) but I decided hand sewing was okay. So last night, I gave into my craving and made two sweet brooches. I must must must make more of these - I really enjoyed it!
Oh dear. An addiction I've managed to stave off for years is well and truly back! These are both available in my Etsy store. :)

What a great day today has been so far. Have managed to achieve so much, plus it's my Dad's 60th birthday today!
I bought him this beautiful lisahopkins bookmark with a quote from Geothe inscribed on it. Being a literary minded man, I think he will find this very appealing. I hope so, anyway!
I've been quite down for the past couple of weeks, and haven't managed to feel very creative - cleaning, decluttering and packing in preparation for putting our house on the market has left me unsettled and anxious - not particularly conducive to creativity. So I'm feeling quite pleased that I've been able to pull myself out of this hole - although I had some specials friends from the DUST team who have been exceptionally supportive - thank so much ladies!
Anyway, some new designs to show off.
And now off to have a lovely cup of tea - what a great day!

The first treasury was curated by peaseblossomstudio and featured my Blue Skies (and White Fluffy Clouds) necklace. Thank you Caroline!
The next one featured an older design called "Lyra" - this necklace is created from whisky quartz, turquoise, onyx and sterling silver - someone lovely from the Etsy Admin was responsible for this choice - thanks!
In my most recent appearance, the lovely Penny - from pocketcarnival - chose my Milk Coils earrings to compliment the beautiful tones she chose in this curation - thanks Penny!
Off to make some jewellery - inspiration has been sadly lacking, and I'm very behind with all my theme challenges and group commitments. Lots to catch up on!
**Edited: make that 4 times! I'm not sure what's going on, but I want to keep doing it! This time my lovely Pieces of a Zephyr earrings were featured, and chosen by the Etsy Admin - those bribes must be working! ;)
