A visit to McLaren Vale

Well I have to say, it's about time I'm feeling better! After a fairly rotten week or so of sinusitis/tonsillitis/whateveritwasitis, today marked a real improvement. To celebrate, the family and I went to Market 190 for lunch, which was just lovely. The vibe is very casual and family friendly. I picked up some delicious sounding/looking/smelling Hickory's Run olive oil in mandarin and lemon myrtle flavours - looking forward to trying them in some salads.

After that, we visited Red Poles, very briefly, so I could drop off this new necklace to them.

It was completely packed with people enjoying lunch - in all the years I've supplied this gallery, I've not yet had lunch there, which I must remedy very soon.

And this afternoon, I plan to make jewellery, and listen to music! On my playlist is Thom Yorke, Symbian, and Lunatic Soul. Yay for feeling better!

New Designs

I'm quite behind with showing these off, as I've been ill - enjoy!

Can you get well soon?

I was feeling quite down and sick first thing this morning (sinusitis again) and had a little cry. While I was checking emails, William came in and asked for paper, then asked where the newspaper was, then asked if he could borrow some scissors, and then - and I was starting to get a little annoyed by now - asked if I had any glue. And look what he made me!

What a sweet kid!

Named for the High Elves city - Ulthuan - this name was suggested by my Warhammer crazy son. :)

The Ulthuan necklace features vibrant turquoise and moody greys which have been painstakingly added to a carefully shaped, hammered, and wirewrapped frame. A wonderfully elaborate pattern has been created using faceted turquoise rondelles, teensy sterling rounds and flashy labradorite teardrops, while an additional labradorite "clove" shape takes pride of place in the centre of the pendant. A substantial rolo chain leads to a detailed Balinese silver clasp, which has been joined to the pendant using coordinating tuquoise rondelles. The design was oxidised deeply, and lightly rubbed back to reveal the high drama, and gorgeous textures.

The pendant measures 5.3cm or 2.1" at the longest point, and a touch over 4.1cm or 1.6" across the widest point, while the necklace itself measures an adjustable 53cm or 20 3/4" in length.

A truly opulent piece, all gemstones used in the Ulthuan necklace are AAA, while all metal is sterling silver.
