New Designs

Firstly, some new brooches (I have been enjoying making them!)

Estuary - bracelet

These are all available in my Etsy store, but I have more in the works - including for my much neglected personal site, and also for my MadeIt store.

It's disappointing to see you copying the exact style of earring from other artists (Emily Gray). It takes away from your artistic integrity. Does Etsy know you've copied? You're credibility is lowered when you try to imitate.

Althelas2 .....Inspirations fly around this Universe, free to be picked up by any who are out there.
Whose to say, who had any particular Idea, 'First' eh ???
As a wise old friend said. "Nothing on this Planet is Original", we're all connected to the soup of creativity ! Enjoy !!

Gosh Nat your Etsy shop is going so well...and as you become more successful you will get some jealous vibes from others...unfortunately it's part of human nature...keep working...your sales are testiment to the exquisite original work that you do!

Oh, beautiful beautiful jewellery. You're my absolute favourite Etsy Jewellery seller. Non one mixes colour like you do. It's so elegant and understated. I love it.

Wonderful work Natalia! And I would not be scornful of others who unlike you, may not be able to create such beauty. I've seen the tutorials in which to learn that style of wrapping and I applaud your nimble fingers, yours and all the other wire artisan's! I wish I could do it! And I totally agree: nothing is original. Especially when there is a tutorial to teach you how to do it!

Natalia - you're a wonderfully talented artist. I think it is obvious to everyone familiar with your work that you have no difficulties coming up with amazing creations. I don't think that comment is even worth your consideration beyond locating the delete button.

I could just as easily say that the other person was copying this artist, and I could add a snide remark that draws etsy's attention to this, but I won't be so petty!! I have known the artist since before she started in jewellery and have watched her designs evolve over time. I have a pendant she made me with a similar theme to the earrings under discussion - it is nearly 10 years old. This would suggest to any reasonable person that the idea has been around for quite a long time.

Thank you Althelas 2 for your comment, and opening a fabulous discussion on designs being similar. I can assure you that I at no point have copied Emily, and was aware of some similarities in our design when I listed the earrings in question on Etsy. Upon noticing this, I discussed the similarities with some trusted fellow wire artisans, who responded that there were a few made in a similar design already listed on Etsy - and not just Emily's lovely examples. It is not unreasonable to think that with three components (wire, rondelles, and briolettes) the results would be finite.
I do thank you for your observation, however, and also thank the other kind bloggers for their supportive remarks.

Natalia your designs are beautiful, I think it is dissapointing that some people believe that they are mid readers and can assumethat you have copied. There are only so many ways that things can be made, obviously only a person who doesn't know anything about the the artform you are using would make a stupid comment like that.
They are beautiful, and they are beautiful in the way you have created them.

Natalia you are very talented at what you do. Your designs are beautiful and looking at your sales it is obvious that many people feel the same way.
