Theme Challenge - The Emerald Isle

Made for the Wire Artisans Guild theme of "Emerald Isle", I created these fanciful purple blooms - just poised on the edge of opening. (Blathanna Corcora is Irish for Purple Flower.)

Created with exceptionally high quality gemstones, the exquisite fluorite briolettes featured in the centre are faceted with a pointy back for extreme sparkle. These are generously wrapped with teensy luminous rose quartz rondelles, and teamed with more fluorite - carved into the sweetest little leaves - dainty amethyst rondelles, and stunning freshwater pearls. These are accompanied by tendrils of goldfill and sterling silver chain, and are secured to handforged hoop style components with quite dainty ear wires. The entire design was then oxidised heavily - the dark grey highlights the gemstones beautifully!

These measure 7.5cm or 2.9" from the top of the ear wire to the base of the chain tendrils - very dramatic!

These are available in my Etsy store.
