Theme Challenge - Affair of the Heart

I'm a little late in posting this piece. The "Affair of the Heart" theme was for the month of February for the Wire Artisans Guild, and I could not resist playing with the heart theme in this design.

So very romantic! The pendant is created with a base of a large gauge sterling wire - shaped, hammered and wrapped with a more slender gauge wire. In the base of each of the hearts a gorgeous soft pink amethyst briolette is perched - enhanced with purple amethyst and peridot rondelles. Plump white freshwater pearls are also featured, as is one petite amethyst and peridot flower - representing love in bloom. Dainty rolo chain is secured to both the pendant and handforged closure with yet another gauge wire. The entire piece has been heavily oxidised - in an organic fashion - and selectively rubbed back.

You can see more pictures here in my Etsy store. :)

It's just magical to me that you can have a pile of wire and some stones and transform it into this lovely thing....
...also hope all is progressing in the house area...take care...
